Steam cleaners

Does anyone use a steam cleaner on their floors? I am intrigued by the concept and am looking for more first hand info.
Yep I have one. But not just for floors. I use it to clean bathrooms, baseboards, Kitchen sink. My couch, ( leather) always has mud on it. Tons on things. I feel good because it kills germs, on tiolet seat handles ect. I got mine at Big Lots on sales 3 years ago. It has a floor attachment.
We have Room Doctor steamer and use it on our kitchen & foyer linoleum floors. Depends how dirty your floors are, but it does a pretty good job cleaning them.
Thanks I want it for the tile floor mostly - I hate the grout Sad with the dogs it is dark and dirty even when the floors are clean. who puts white floor tile and white grout in a lkae home where there is red clay soil?

I bought a steam cleaner in target once for the windows and other cleaninga nd it broke in like a week. I am leery about how they are made because of that.
I think our Room Doctor was about $700 but we were paying close to $300 a year to do carpets so if it lasts more than a few years we'll be very happy. It does a great job on the rugs too, but sometimes you have to do a little pre-treating.
I have a Shark Steam Mop. I use it on my hardwoods and tile. It does a decent job and is super easy to use. I too got it especially for the grout. I hated having to scrub the floors on my hands and knees. It was only like $60 at BBB with a coupon, so even if it only lasts a year, it was well worth the investment for me!

I also really liked the idea of not using any chemicals on the floors. My hardwoods really shine now!

Good point. I just bit on one on edbay that would be about $60 and that was my thought too Wink
Though I'm probably the only dummy that would do this, just a quick piece of advice: don't concentrate it for your walls long if it has an attachment. I learned that one the hard way. Now we have light spots in the paint all the way up the stairs. Sad

well since we have a newf - that is probably advice worth Confused hearing
I keep seeing an infomercial for one made by Haan, if it works half as good as they claim it would work great! Kerry, why don't you buy one and let me know if you like it Very Happy. I'm tired of trying to keep the tile clean Evil or Very Mad
